In October 2023, the Cape Elizabeth School Building Advisory Committee (SBAC) made key decisions regarding the school facilities project. The committee’s meetings, held on October 5th and the 19th, along with additional subcommittee meetings, focused on finalizing partnerships for the project.
A major outcome was the committee’s unanimous vote on October 5th to endorse Harriman as the architectural firm for the project. This decision was later unanimously approved by the School Board on October 10th and by the Town Council on October 11th. In addition, the SBAC also unanimously voted to endorse CESO as the communications consultant. This decision was similarly supported by the School Board and received majority approval from the Town Council.
These decisions in October marked significant steps forward in the school facilities project. The SBAC’s choices of Harriman and CESO are aimed at ensuring professional guidance in architecture and communications, demonstrating the committee’s focus on effective planning and public engagement for the school building project.
